TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
TEDx JECRC is one of its kind event to be organized in JECRC by a team of passionate engineering students that aims to “DISCOVER SOCIETY” at its best.The event will host speakers from peculiar verses of society, that range from comedy to fashion to global issues. Our aim is to bring the IDEAS WORTH SPREADING to the 100 intellectual students of JECRC who would take inspirations from those ideas and change the world for good. TEDx JECRC is not just about speakers, but is also about the right audience who would be able to listen to and engage with content, so as the ideas will propagate with their conversations.
JECRC Foundation is a 16 year old education group that comprises of 2 AICTE approved engineering colleges namely JECRC and JECRC UDML established in the year 2000 and 2007 respectively and a UGC approved autonomous university named JECRC University established in 2012.
